Carrier-unlock my iPhone * that I purchased in full from Best Buy. ... T-Mobile said they couldn’t unlock the device because there was no record of that particular IMEI in their system. Thus, locking the phone to their network without a means to unlock it to use on other carriers.
I paid for the iPhone * outright as an “unlocked” phone, and naturally wanted to switch carriers. Only to realize the iPhone is locked to only accept T-Mobile SIM cards. Apple stated that it is locked to T-Mobile, and only T-Mobile can unlock the phone.
Understand how the Flex Plan phones operate* either unlock my phone, that is now bound to T-Mobile, or don’t SIM-lock the phone in the first place.
