Introduction

Losing your T-Mobile password or PIN can be frustrating. These two pieces of information are key to managing your account and proving your identity when calling customer support.

Fortunately, recovering a lost password or PIN is simple. Just follow this guide to reset your password online, regain access to your account, and change the PIN in just a few short minutes.

Visit the T-Mobile homepage

Whether you've forgotten the password or PIN, you need to regain access to your T-Mobile account. Open a new browser page and type www.t-mobile.com into the address bar. Hit Return.

Navigate to the Login page

Click My account in the top right-hand corner, and select Login from the drop-down list.

Enter your phone number or email address

On the Login screen, enter the phone number or email associated with your T-Mobile account. Click Next.

Click on Forgot Password?

Choose a verification method

You now need to choose how to verify your T-Mobile account. To receive a link or one-time pin via text or email, check the appropriate box, click Continue, and move on to the next step.

You can opt to answer security questions previously set up on your account. Make your selection and follow the on-screen instructions.

You may be offered the option of using Google Authenticator. This requires you to download Google Authenticator from the app store and link it to your Google account. Once the authenticator is set up, follow the instructions to generate a 6-digit code and regain access to your T-Mobile account.

Check your inbox

If you choose to receive a text or email, check your inbox for a message from T-Mobile. Check your spam or junk folder if nothing arrives in the inbox.

Either follow the link or enter the OTP to authenticate your T-Mobile account.

Create a new password

Whichever verification method you opt for, you will be asked to create a new password. It should be 8-50 characters long and contain at least one number, letter, and special character.

Once you've entered and re-entered the new password, click Save or Submit. Remember to make a note of the details and keep them somewhere safe.

Recover your PIN in the Profile Settings

Now that you have full access to your T-Mobile account, it's time to reset the PIN. This requires you to be on the T-Mobile network, so consider using your phone's browser for this part of the process.Log in to your account using your mobile or email and password.Click Edit Profile Settings. Alternatively, tap the three lines in the top-right corner, click on your name at the bottom of the list, and choose Profile and Edit Profile.

Tap the down arrow next to the PIN/Passcode section

Find the PIN/Passcode section in the menu. On the right, you should see a down arrow. Click it and select Edit.

Create a new PIN

Follow the instructions to choose a new PIN. Re-enter the number when prompted, and hit Save when you're done.

You have now created a new PIN and should receive a text message confirming the change.

Conclusion

Whether you've forgotten your T-Mobile password or PIN, follow the above steps, and you'll have full access to your account in just a few minutes.

If you're having difficulties accessing your account or resetting the PIN, contact T-Mobile customer support for help.

Why does GetHuman Write How-to Guides for T-Mobile Problems?

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
