The issue in GetHuman-sureshe's own words
I went to Walmart Store in Sterling, Virginia on November **, ****. I wanted to buy a gas grill. The grill was assembled completely instead of in a box. There was no staff to help me. I spent sometime looking for help. When I found someone in Christmas Decor section right next he said it was not his job. Then I went looking for other staff and found someone else. This person came and saw the item I was interested in. I asked him can he help me get it into the car. First he said no, then he said OK after seeing I am alone. I asked him to only remove the side shelves, it was hardly * screws on each side. He said he will go and grab a ***** driver and comeback. And he went and was helping someone else, I watched for few minutes and asked him again. Then he asked me go and pay first. I did not how would I pay, whom to go to without taking the product with me. He asked me to take a picture of product barcode, and the nearest checkout terminal was closed and nearest staff failed to help. I asked him to confirm he will help me else I would not buy, he assured. Once I paid for the item waiting in line and coming back all the way, I do not see him. Took sometime to find the guy, he had a ***** driver in had and was saying he didn't find me so he left. Now he said he cannot disassemble it. I told him don't just help me remove those screws and get it in the car. He said he cannot he had go for some other work. I asked for a refund if he cannot help. HE asked to go to customer service and get a refund. I was shocked, why would anyone give me a refund for product that I did not claim yet but have already paid. I argued and asked him to take me to store manager. He explained to tore manager. And the manager also said they cannot dissemble the product because of the fear of damaging my purchased item. Why would you sell such big items assembled instead of leaving it in box when you cannot help customer get it into the vehicle. The manager said they can HAPPILY refund the money. I told him yes you should definitely give me money back because I am really buying anything from you, why take my money. He said it as though he as doing a favor to me, by giving my money back to me. I told him because of his staff my time was wasted, which he cannot give me back. He said with a raised voice, "I know, you do not have to threaten me like that". I was shocked, embarrassed and felt very much insulted. What did I threaten him for? I asked him the same. I was very nice to him and the staff. I was definitely upset, but at no time I was rude. Instead the moment I went to the manager he was not very pleasant, he was talking to me with a very serious face. And he not for once said SORRY for the CONVENIENCE. I would have been very happy if it was at least acknowledged. Instead he claimed that I was threatening him. What do I have to threaten him? I do not know what his intention was, whether to scare me off or to embarrass and insult me or he though let's have some fun poking this customer. Later he said go ahead to customer service and they can refund the money. Then, I went to the customer service to get a refund. There was a big line and I had to wait. For what? to get my money back for the product I never got. I still was not sure why would the customer service person give me a refund if I have nothing to return. I asked him to come with me. He said not to worry and they will take care. I waited in line until my turn and when I went to customer service person she asks "where is item you are returning?". I said I never got it and the manager said you will take care of it. She went to find the manager and once he confirmed she came back and refunded the money. I was charged the same day but still have not received the money after * days. While I was leaving, the manager saw me and asked "did she help you with your refund and thank you shopping with us".
