Using Your Walmart Gift Card
Walmart gift cards can be used online, through the mobile app, or in person.
Online Purchases
To use your Walmart gift card online, do the steps below.
- Open Walmart's website in your browser and log into your account.
- Add items to your cart.
- Open shopping cart.
- Click "Continue to Checkout."
- Enter the shipping address.
- Under payment methods, click "Add a New Payment Method."
- Enter the 16-digit gift card code found on the back of the card, then click "Save Card."
- Complete the remainder of the fields to confirm the order and payment and complete the process.
Walmart App
Walmart gift cards can be added to your Walmart pay wallet in the Walmart app. When making a purchase using the app, you can select gift card as the payment method. Gift cards can be used to reload your balance in your Walmart pay wallet and can be used for online or in-store purchases. The gift card loaded to your app can be used for mobile scans and going shopping.
To add a gift card for use with purchases, do the following:
- Open the Walmart app and log into your account.
- Select "Wallet."
- Click "Add new payment method."
- Select gift card as the payment type.
- Enter the 16-digit card number.
- Click "Save Card" to store it in the wallet.
- Select the gift card to use for purchases.
In Person
Classic gift cards can also be scanned at any register when making an in-store purchase. At the self-checkout, select gift card as the payment method to apply the balance to your overall total.
