I purchased a Walmart Debit Card in December for my * year old grand daughter and had it loaded at the Register for $***.**. Today, my grand daughter came to my house and wanted to use her Debit Card I purchased for her. I thought I would have to register it before use, so I went online, started to fill out the form, and when it got to social security number, is the problem!!! She does not know her SSAN number, so that she could go with me to Walmart and use this card for her to get clothes for back to school, I ended up putting in my SSAN, and the computer rejected it. So I changed all the info on this online form and entered my info, now it said it is sending me a card. I don't need a card, I need this one to work!!! I called Walmart corporate, and told the operator there what the problem was and she suggested go to my Walmart store and have the cashier check the balance, all he kept getting was not authorized. I then asked to see a manager, Heather, at the Beavercreek, Oh Walmart came over to assist me. She got the same info, not authorized. I spent $***.** loading this card at Christmas time and my grand daughter needs to use this for back to school purchases. PLEASE, PLEASE can you help me. There is no way to talk with a human at the Green Dot bank, which is why I resorted to calling and seeing walmart personally!

I finally figured out what I bought from Walmart was not exactly what I wanted. I wanted a Gift Card for my little grand daughter, found out it was some sort of money card instead, when I purchased it I loaded it with $***.** and paid a fee of $*.** for it. I thought at the time it was reasonable, then when I tried to register the card, they wanted her social security card number and so much more, and for a nine year old I thought that was way too much. I ended up putting my name and personal info down instead, and thought I had it all donw, then went to Walmart and they said "NOT AUTHORIZED" got a very nice manager out Heather and she tried swiping the card, and she got the same response. So I called Walmart Corporate once again, they gave me the :Unknown" number to speak to a real live human being at Green Dot Bank. We figured out what was wrong on this card, I had to register a pin number, then it showed the bank balance from December **** when I purchased it, and my nine year old grand daughter could use it with me close by. We went back to Walmart, tallied up her purchases, and used up pretty much what was on the card, except leaving the Bank $*.** as their fee once again for using the card, and would charge a continual fee $*.** for every month thereafter. Now knowing the card had only ** cents left on it, I called Green dot bank and cancelled the card. Next time I get a gift card I will read up on all the ins and outs of any charges. This one was a "Whopper" and a continual drain on the wallet!!! I know better now and will steer away from any card like that!
