The issue in GetHuman-mikeachu's own words
I would like to start this dialogue by saying that I am not usually a person who voices complaint. As a manager myself I am always trying to give the benefit of the doubt while always trying to give my customers the best services possible. This incident happened close to a month ago and has bothered me to the point that when my fianc* recently asked me if I would like to go to Target to buy some things for our new home I was instantly reminded of my experience and vehemently denied and chose to go to Walmart for our housing needs. The incident that Im speaking of happened right before New Years at your Busleton Ave location in North East Philadelphia. My fianc* and I had attained multiple target cards in the amount of over $*** and wished to buy a new xbox for our new home. Completely understanding it was right after Christmas and supplies would be low, we went online and found that this location said they had * still available. After driving ** minutes we came to the electronic section only to find that the xbox's were no where to be found. Trevor, a very nice and helpful electronics specialist, told us that the xboxs may be on a pallet waiting to be unloaded and that an error could've occurred online. I then asked for a manager which he quickly called. *O minutes later no manager arrived as Trevor continued to called. Trevor nicely told me that the Target down the street had ** in stock and sadly told me he did not think his manager was coming which when I walked to the front and saw that was the case I was absolutely disgusted. If not for the help of this young man I would've been stuck sitting there for who knows how long. When I got to the front I shared my displeasure with a very pleasant customer service rep that quickly called over the manager who had been apparently standing in the front doing a whole lot of standing while I sat frustrated in the back. When " Andy " the so called manager of this operation presented him self I was even more appalled. After telling him about my experience and being confused on why the product was not available when the store clearly said it was he, instead of making me feel better or offering help, more or less blamed Trevor for not contacting him, which I saw him personally do twice, and then when I called him out on that instance he proceeded to say he was too busy. for over ** minutes? And did you just say " too busy " to a customer seeking help? After telling him that I was ready to spend over $*** at his store and I would now be taking my further business to Walmart because of the lack of customer service, respect, and incompetence he proceeded to tell me that that was my choice. Andy showed absolutely no caring for me as a paying customer and didn't blink an eye when I told him Id be taking my money to Walmart. Being a manager and having been in the management and customer service field for years I was completely and utterly shocked and appalled all at the same time. Not only did this man ignore a customer willing to spend over $*** but he also blamed his own faults on his employees and instead of trying to make things right, told a customer to essentially go shop at one of your competitors. II did not want anything more then an explanation, or an xbox! In all this situation could've been handled by a professional that actually knows customer service. I must say I have always been a " target guy " and prefer your store because of prices and the quality of your products, but bad customer service is one thing I just cant let go. Unfortunately that last experience has left me with a taste in my mouth that is very hard to get rid of and for future customers I think you deserve to know about this instance. A customer is never wrong especially one that comes to a store looking to spend over $*** for a product that was said to be in stock yet can not be presented. In that instance no manager should have the right to look at that customer and make them feel as they are the one that made the mistake and they can take their money else where. I can fairley say that if all your managers acted in this fashion you would not be in business and there would be a lot more people like me disgusted by their experience in one of your stores. I hope that you as a company correct these problems at that location as I know from experience this does not speak to Target as a hold. Unfortunately it only takes one bad experience to turn away a good customer, as I know very well through my experiences with management, but its a managers job to fix that and make the consumer leave at least somewhat satisfied. I hope to one day be able to get over this but at this point I am a Walmart shopper and will continue to boycott your store to everyone I know
