On ******* I purchased a tv stand from dover de target. It was ***. It was very heavy and I live alone on the * floor of my building. I had to take it out piece by piece just to get it up the stairs. After doing that i began to put it together. I got to a point that I had to attach a bar to the board and saw that the makers had put the drill holes on the side instead of on the bottom. There was no way to fix it. I called the store in dover De. I tried to explain what happen and I was rudely cut off by the lady and said theres nothing we can do it's a vendor issue. She said I might be able to exchange it she was ***% I tried to explain to her that it was way to heavy for me to bring back to the store. She said oh well. I asked to speak to someone higher up. A guy got on the phone who was very nice and understood my situation however he also said there was no other way to help Me that it was vendor issue. I asked if there was any way If i could bring back just the piece and maybe switch it out. He said no because target would lose money. I said what if I call the **** number. (By now I'm crying on the phone) I called the number the lady and gentlemen I spoke at **** number tried to help and said they would send me the piece but it could take a long time. I said fine what choice do I have. However I went to lowes and bought a drill and fixed the stand my self. I was very disappointed that target doesnt have a better system to help people in my type of situation. I decided to do an experiment. I called lowes made it seem like I bought a stand something was missing but I couldn't carry the item. With out any issues they said just come in we will give u the piece from a box we have and we will send ours to the vendor. I then went to walmart did the same thing for a small $** item same great customer service they went to the back and found and item to help me and replaced it. My whole apartment is from target. my pharmacy is cvs at target. I go to target about * times a week. I will no longer be using target for anything. I should not have been treated and spoke to the way I was. They didnt even believe that I had nobody to help me bring it back. I have one living sister left and she lives in Hawaii. My mother and father passed away. I'm a women who lives alone. Target should have a better set up to provide customer service. If walmart (the store I hate) can do it for a $** stand then target needs to step it up. Above all when someone is crying on the phone dont laugh at them. Shame on Dover target.*E.Wright
