It is easy to fix a broken Metro PCS phone with insurance. It is very important to first establish that Metro PCS recently merged with T-Mobile. The service once known as Metro PCS is now called Metro By T-Mobile. Customers who signed up for wireless plans when the company was known as Metro PCS can verify this information by referring to a billing statement.

Back to the broken or disabled Metro PCS/Metro By T-Mobile phone. The first step is verifying whether the mobile account currently carries Premium Handset Protection insurance. It is important to note that customers must sign up for this insurance plan within seven days of activating their device. Users cannot enroll in the Premium Handset Protection plan retroactively.

If there is any question whether a customer is enrolled in the protection plan, this information can be confirmed by contacting the Metro By T-Mobile customer service number found on the following GetHuman page: https://gethuman.com/phone-number/Metro-PCS. Those who want to avoid the wait time can also consult a billing statement.

Metro By T-Mobile uses a company called Assurant to manage the claims process. Use the following link to find the correct portal: https://fastclaim.com/metro?lang=en-us. The homepage has an overview of the Handset Protection Plan where users can view the deductible schedule for their device. In addition, there is a link to a page outlining what is and is not covered under the insurance plan.

In the top right corner of the screen, there is a field for starting the claims process. Simply enter the phone number associated with the damaged Metro PCS phone and it will provide users with a claim form. Enter the incident details and have any supporting documentation, such as a police report in the event of a stolen device, at the ready. Once the details are populated, submit the claim to Assurant. The claim will be reviewed promptly and ruled upon in conjunction with the Handset Protection Plan.

Upon approval, Metro By T-Mobile will ship a replacement device. If the claim is approved Monday-Friday before 8:30 PM Eastern Standard Time, customers will receive a replacement phone the next day. Claims approved on Saturday or Sunday will arrive the following Tuesday. It is very important to note that users must send the broken phone back to Metro By T-Mobile to avoid a penalty. If a repair is warranted, customers will receive an email with directions as to how to return the broken Metro PCS phone to be fixed.
