Introduction

If you get your phone service from Metro by T-Mobile, you also have the option of getting device protection from the company, too. If you do, and if your phone is damaged, you may end up having to pay little to nothing to get it repaired. If you do not have protection, you will need to pay for the repairs entirely by yourself.

What You'll Need

To get device protection, you must purchase it within 30 days of purchasing or activating your phone. If you do not get coverage within this time, you will not be able to get it for this phone. A visual inspection at a Metro by T-Mobile store may be required to purchase device protection coverage, to make sure it is not already damaged. Before filing your claim, make sure you have your device's IMEI number available, as well as money for your deductible or service fee.
If your device needs to be replaced instead of repaired, the delivery date of your new device will be determined by the time your claim was approved. If your device was approved before 8:30 pm EST on a weekday, you should get your new device the next day. If your claim is approved before 8:00 pm EST on a weekend day, you will get your new device on the following Tuesday. If you have Metro Basic Protection, your device is covered for accidental damage, including liquid damage. You are also covered for electrical and mechanical malfunctions. In both cases, you will need to pay a service fee ranging from $20 to $275 plus taxes. If you have Metro Advanced Protection, you have the same protection as the Basic plan provides, but your service fee ranges from $20 to $175, and you get front screen repairs for only $20 to $29.With Metro Complete Protection, your service fee for accidental damage and malfunctions ranges from $10 to $90 and front screen repairs are free.

Why does GetHuman Write How-to Guides for Metro by T-Mobile Problems?

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
