How Do I Reach a Comcast Customer Service Rep?

Comcast/Xfinity maintain several hotlines for customers who need to resolve individual issues. Choose the phone number which works best for your situation. Press "0" repeatedly to reach a human representative quickly. If you don't want to use the phone, you can email or use live chat instead. Make sure to have all your account information ready before you contact the company.

If you are having problems with your Comcast or Xfinity account, you may need to discuss your problem with a customer service representative to resolve the issue. However, Comcast is a large company, so to resolve your individual issue, make sure you're calling the appropriate number.

Before calling, have your personal information ready, including your name, any credit card or bank account information, and your Comcast or Xfinity account details (including the last four digits of the account holder's Social Security number and any necessary passwords). If possible, have a copy of your most recent bill or statement to hand. You may also want to get a pad and paper, in case you need to take notes.

Choose a number from the following list which most pertains to your individual issue.

New Accounts

If you are interested in becoming a customer and creating an account with Comcast/Xfinity, call the New Account helpline to connect with someone able to set you up.

Business Accounts

If your issue has to do with service to your business or office, you have two options. You can call Business Customer Service to resolve most issues. If you wish to discuss particulars regarding your account, such as bill payment or adding or removing a service, call the Business Accounts line.

California-Based Accounts

If you live and/or work in California, Comcast has set up a separate help line for you.

General Customer Service

If none of these apply to you, call Comcast's main customer service helpline. If you wish to connect to a customer service representative as quickly as possible, choose "0" at each menu option.

Phone Alternatives

If you don't wish to speak on the phone, for whatever reason, you may use the following methods to contact a Comcast customer service representative. Be advised, however, that these methods often take longer than a phone call.

Email

You can email Comcast Customer Service. Describe your problem succinctly as possible, and include what you would like the rep to do. You should receive a response within one business day.

Live Chat

If you prefer typing over speaking, you can contact Comcast Customer Service Live Chat. This method works if you prefer not to use phones, and can quickly connect you to a human customer service rep. Be advised that the Live Chat feature is only available from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Fridays, Eastern Standard Time.

Social Media

Comcast has a Twitter account. Customers are not advised to use this method, as replies can take several days. However, if you have had no luck using any other avenue, you can try sending a tweet and hoping to draw attention to your problem.

Why does GetHuman Write How-to Guides for Comcast Problems?

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our How Do I Reach a Comcast Customer Service Rep? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
