AT&T U-Verse Customer FAQ

To reset a U-verse set top box showing a red X on the screen after a power failure, first, unplug the power cord from the back of the box. Wait about 10 seconds, then plug the power cord back in. Wait for the system to reboot! This process usually resolves the issue. If the red X persists, you may need to check for service outages or further assistance.

To stream AT&T U-Verse while on vacation, you’ll need a compatible device such as a smartphone, tablet, or laptop. Ensure you have a stable internet connection at your vacation location. You can access U-Verse through the U-verse app or through the U-Verse website by logging in with your AT&T credentials. Keep in mind that some content may be subject to location restrictions.

To reboot your U-Verse wireless box, locate the power button on the device. Press and hold the button until the lights turn off, then release it. Wait for about 10 seconds, and then press the power button again to turn the box back on. Allow it a few moments to fully restart. You can also unplug the device from the power outlet, wait for 10 seconds, and plug it back in. This will achieve the same result.

The normal status light on a Wi-Fi Gateway for AT&T U-Verse should be green. A green light typically indicates that the gateway is functioning correctly and is connected to the internet. A red light may signify there is an issue with the connection.

This issue could be due to various reasons. The TV may have accidental settings applied, a needed system update, or a minor glitch. Firstly, you could try rebooting the main U-Verse receiver. Wait for a few minutes before you restart it. This allows the system to fully reset and might restore the audio. If this doesn't work, check the audio settings on your TV and ensure it's configured correctly. Try the SAP (Secondary Audio Program) settings if available and make sure it's set to the primary language.
