Introduction

If you can't pay your Verizon account balance, consider setting up a payment arrangement to avoid service interruptions and collections activity. Although you can postpone payment, a late payment fee still applies. You also don't pay a fee when setting up a payment arrangement at a retail store, website, or app. If you call or chat with a representative, there's a $10 fee for setting up a payment arrangement. Are you also able to cancel or change a payment arrangement? Yes, and this guide will show you how. Use the steps below to cancel or modify a payment arrangement.

Sign In to Your Verizon Account

Log in with your user ID or Verizon mobile number and tap Continue. If you don't remember your password or user ID, tap Forgot user ID and password, and follow the on-screen instructions to retrieve your user ID and reset the password.

Tap Bills

Once you're on the homepage, scroll down to Payment Arrangements and follow the on-screen instructions on how to cancel or modify it.

You can also change or cancel a payment arrangement via the Verizon app. The process is the same; go to Bills and scroll down to get to Payment Arrangements. You'll be able to change or cancel the option from there.

If you prefer to speak to a representative, use the option below.

Chat With a Customer Service Rep From Verizon

Some customers may still have other concerns and prefer to speak to a customer service representative. In this case, Verizon's chat feature will come in handy. Just type your question and follow the instructions provided by the representative. Note that there's a $7 fee if you wish to speak to a representative to modify a payment arrangement.

Do you only want to change the date of your payment arrangement? Be sure to pay it on time to avoid service disruptions and other issues with Verizon Fios. You can pay your balance by setting up Auto Pay or by paying it in person. Just visit a nearby payment location. Another option is to use Fios TV to pay for your bill.

As much as possible, try to avoid setting up a payment arrangement, as you still need to pay a late payment fee for it. The late fee charge is about 5% of your account balance, and the amount can add up over time.

Conclusion

Financial emergencies are sometimes inevitable, and Verizon customers have no choice but to set up a payment arrangement. If it's the only option for you, at least set up the payment arrangement by yourself. You can also avoid paying other fees when you change or modify the payment arrangement via the app. Use the chat feature only when you're having issues with the app or the website.

Do you still have problems modifying or changing the payment arrangement with Verizon Fios? Don't hesitate to get in touch with Verizon Fios' Customer Support.

Why does GetHuman Write How-to Guides for Verizon FiOS Problems?

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
