How to Set Up a Recurring Internal Transfer From Your Citizens Bank Account

If you want to set up a recurring transfer between one of your Citizens Bank accounts and another, follow these instructions:

  1. Go to the Citizens Bank website.
  2. Sign into your account.
  3. Click on the Transfers option in the main menu.
  4. Click on Make a Transfer.
  5. Click on the account you want to send money from.
  6. Click on the account you want to send money to.
  7. Enter the amount of money you want to transfer.
  8. Click on More Options.
  9. Select the frequency with which to make the transfer in the frequency field.
  10. Choose a start date.
  11. Click on the Submit button.

How to Set Up a Recurring External Transfer From Your Citizens Bank Account

If you want to set up a recurring transfer to an external account, you first need to connect that account to your own. To do that, follow these instructions:

  1. Go to the Citizens Bank site.
  2. Sign in.
  3. Click on Transfers in the main menu.
  4. Click on + External Account.
  5. Enter your password.
  6. Click on Submit.
  7. Enter the account and routing numbers for the external account, the account type and an account name.
  8. Click on the Submit button.
  9. Citizens Bank will check to see if the external account is eligible to receive inbound transfers. If it is, it will send two small deposits to the external account. Once you see the message that it has done so, click on OK.
  10. Wait for those deposits to reach the account. This may take a few days.
  11. Have the owner of the account tell you the deposit amounts.
  12. Sign back into your Citizens Bank account to verify the deposit amounts.

Once you have verified the deposit amounts, you can set up the recurring external transfer by following the same instructions as for setting up a recurring internal transfer. However, in step 6, click on the external account.
