Simple mobile has launched a prepaid plan for upgrading phones called Phone Upgrade Unlimited Plan which has three options. The plans are inclusive of unlimited calls, SMS, and data, and the main difference is the frequency of upgrading the phone. You can opt for a monthly $50 plan allowing you to upgrade after 18 months or after 12 months for $60 monthly or for a monthly $70 plan, which will enable you to upgrade every six months. The most significant advantage is that the data has a high speed limit, which, when reached, suppresses its usage. Despite this, it is considered to have the cheapest plans.

When Can You Get an Upgrade on Simple Mobile?

To be eligible for a Simple Mobile Phone upgrade, you must;

Provide Social Security Number

The number is used for identification purposes and for conducting background checks. One must be over 18 years, and details like an email address and phone number are also required.

Have an Approved Credit

A background check is conducted to ensure you can pay for the upgrade. It, therefore, means that you are required to have an account and a credit card as your credit history is assessed. One must meet the minimum wage amount of $ 1000 per month.

For payment, a debit card is used to make the transaction.

This upgrade is under a lease to own program, and henceforth, you can only hold the device once you have fully paid for it. You can also consider having an initial purchase where you pay for the equipment up front.

A customer has the option of ending a lease at any time within the lease period and return the phone as there is no contract that a customer is required to sign. You are at liberty to choose the most convenient plan for you and can cancel it at any given time.

For each plan purchased, the customer gets upgrade points and becomes eligible for a discount once they reach 18 points. The number of points varies according to the type of plan. For instance, the $50 plan rewards the customer with 1 point, for $60 you get 1.5 points and 3 points for the $70 plan

How Can You Get an Upgrade on Simple Mobile?

To begin the upgrade, you can visit the Simple Mobile Upgrade site, which requires you to follow several steps.

Step 1: Have a Compatible Device

A Simple Mobile Phone upgrade requires you to have a Simple Mobile device or an unlocked GSM phone that is compatible with the latter. If you are not sure, you can conduct a Simple Mobile compatibility check on your device.

Step 2: Mastering the Phone Number

Take note of the phone number that you would like to use on the new phone.

Step 3: Begin the Process

Click on the green button labeled "transfer". This opens up to a page with three options where one is required to select the type of device you plan to upgrade; a Simple Mobile Phone, a phone from a different brand, or a Simple Mobile Hotspot.

In case you are upgrading a Simple Mobile phone, you are required to input the SIM card number, get to choose a plan, then set up the device, and finalize the process.

If you are upgrading an older phone, click on the box labeled 'bring your own phone' and accept the terms and conditions. If you have a Simple Phone SIM card, you can continue with the process, and if not, you might have to purchase one.
