In a nutshell: If you get your wireless service from SafeLink, you can get a free or very cheap phone along with free wireless phone service. However, your phone does not come with the kind of device protection that other service providers offer, and that is a part of how the company offers such inexpensive devices and services. You do have some device support options available to you, though.

Basically, you have two support options. You can get very limited troubleshooting help, as long as you take care of the problem yourself. You might also qualify for warranty protection.SafeLink's warranty provides one year of limited protection for new devices and 60 days of protection for refurbished ones. Please be aware that the SafeLink warranty only protects against manufacturing defects, including software defects. It will not cover damage from accidents or normal wear and tear issues. The use of third party apps or attempts to mod your device in any way will void the warranty.

If you know your device is not currently covered by the warranty, or if the warranty won't cover the damage, skip ahead to step 14.
SafeLink doesn't repair damaged devices, but it does replace them.
This should take no more than 24 business hours. If your device is covered, you will be sent instructions and an RMA number via email.
Failure to do these things could result in a delay in receiving your replacement device.
Include a printed copy of your return (RMA) request, the RMA number, and your device's original order number.
Wait for your new device.
Do not proceed with additional steps.
This might be cheaper than paying for the repair yourself.
Your only other option is to pay for the needed repair yourself.
If you have any questions about the SafeLink warranty, the device replacement process, discounts on upgrades, or any other topic, call a SafeLink customer support representative. The customer service call center is open from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm EST from Monday to Saturday and from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm EST on Sunday.

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
After helping consumers for 10 years, we realized that you need an impartial, live person you can talk to about comparing the various TV, cable, Internet and phone plans in your area- somebody who can compare the best deals across telecom providers. So we created a free concierge service you can call at the phone number below.
