AT&T Wireless is a branch of a major American telecommunications company AT&T Inc. The organization was founded in 1983 as the Southwestern Bell Corporation and has grown to become the world's largest provider of mobile telephone services. AT&T Wireless offers its clients wireless mobile plans, prepaid mobile plans, and phone accessories. If you're currently an AT&T Wireless customer and need to cancel your service, follow the steps outlined below.

Note that if you're canceling a service when you haven't finished an installment agreement, the remaining balance of your agreement will be due immediately. However, if you cancel within 14 days of starting the service and return your device in "like new" condition, no fees will apply and you won't be obligated to pay out the rest of the installment agreement.

Review Your AT&T Wireless Agreement

  1. Go to www.att.com

  2. In the top right corner select 'Account' and 'Sign In.'

  3. Log in to your account with your user ID and password.

  4. Under your account details, go into billing, and select 'View current paper bill.'

  5. Locate your AT&t Wireless account number on your bill. You will need to provide this when you're canceling your service.

  6. Under your account details, review your wireless agreement to better understand if fees and charges will apply to cancel.

Contact AT&T Wireless Customer Support Via Phone

Your best option for canceling your service is to call into the AT&T customer service line. Provide your account number and explain that you would like to cancel your service. The customer service agent will try to offer you promotions or discounts to stay, be polite but firm in your request to cancel. Ask the customer service representative to outline what fees and charges might apply. Ask when these fees will be charged and when your service will end. You should receive a confirmation email once your service has been suspended. Keep the agent on the line until you receive the email.

Contact AT&T Wireless Customer Support Via Live Chat
