Postmates, owned by Uber, uses Uber gift cards. If your Uber balance won't load properly after redeeming your gift card then you have some kind of problem that you need to solve if you want to access the value from the card. You should investigate the card redemption process, your internet connection, a problem with Uber's server, and unauthorized use of your Postmates or Uber accounts.
Because Postmates is owned by Uber, Postmates uses Uber gift cards, instead of gift cards its own brand. With Uber gift cards, you redeem them and have the credit applied to your account, which is then used on your next order. If you redeemed your gift card and tried to check your Uber balance and found that the right balance wouldn't load, you have a problem to solve before you use the gift card again.
If the Uber website just freezes up when you check your balance, you may just have a bad internet connection. Check it. If you've lost the connection, your computer simply can't reach Uber's server, so it never stops waiting for your balance information. Fix the connection and try again.
If that wasn't the problem, Uber's server probably is. If the server doesn't respond, your computer never gets the information it needs. All you can do is wait for Uber's repair crew to repair things. If the system still isn't working after waiting for awhile, you might need to contact Uber to let someone know that there might be a problem with the server.
If the balance loads properly but shows one that is too low, something might have gone wrong with the gift card redemption process. If this is the first time checking your balance since you redeemed the card, and if your balance is off by the amount that was supposed to be on the card, then this is the most likely explanation. Contact Uber's customer service department, explain what went wrong, and ask how to recover your balance.
If that's not the problem then somebody may have been accessing your Uber or Postmates accounts. Log into your Uber account and look for orders that you didn't make. If you find them then it seems likely that someone has been using your Uber or Postmates accounts. Ask everyone else who is authorized to use those accounts if they placed the order. If none of them did, someone has gained improper access to one or other other or both. Change your Postmates and Uber accounts' passwords to keep this from happening again.
If you think somebody is accessing your Uber or Postmates accounts, you need to report it to the appropriate company's customer service department. You should probably do that during business hours, in case people from other departments need to talk to you.
If you have a report to make to Postmates, or questions to ask a Postmates representative, you can find one on the Postmates help forum or reach one by email. There is no phone contact option.
If you instead need to talk to an Uber representative, you need to visit the Uber help forum. There is no phone contact option and no other online contact options.
GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Postmates in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What Do I Do If My Postmates Gift Card Balance Won't Load? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
