What You'll Need
If there is an error with your name on the booking, and it does not perfectly match the name on your passport or other travel ID, you may be able to get your travel agent to fix it for you. A travel agent can make changes to the name without a special waiver if it is a change to the first or middle name, if it is a correction of no more than three characters in the last name, or if the first and last names were switched on your ticket and there is no middle name or initial in use. All other name changes will require the assistance of a Delta customer service agent.To change a part of your flight's itinerary that was improperly set, follow the instructions below.

Click on the "Log in" option in the upper right corner of the page.
A log-in popup window will appear.
Enter your SkyMiles Number or your Username in the text box at the top of the popup, and enter your password in the lower one, to log in to your account.
Go to the "My Trips" section of your Delta account.
Find your trip and click on it.
You will be brought to that trip's Travel Details page.
Click on the "Change or Add Flights" option.
Follow the prompts to change the portion of your flight affected by the error.
If you make the change within the first 24 hours after you booked the flight, you can make the change for free, although you may still owe money for the new flight path, if it is longer. Changes made outside of that window will also include a change charge. The exact amount of the charge will depend on a number of factors, including departure location and destination.
