If you have a CitiCard account and you have decided to add one or more other people to that account as authorized users, you can do so quickly and easily. You simply need to fill out a short online form. Citibank has no rules governing who you can add as an authorized user. There is no cost involved.
You can sometimes help friends and family members build their credit by adding them to your credit card account, as on time payments will be recorded on their credit reports. If you have a CitiCard account and want to authorize other people to use it, find out how to do so below.
You can add anyone you like to your CitiCard account, even children. This can be a good way to introduce them to the world of credit. However, you are the person who is ultimately responsible for your account, not your authorized users. You should therefore be mindful of whom you authorize, especially when it comes to children. If an authorized user makes excessive charges or incurs fees, you are the one who is responsible for paying them. Please note that you cannot set a lower credit limit for your authorized users. Whatever credit limit your card has is the credit limit that will be available to your authorized users.
Go to the Citibank home page, and sign into your account. Click on the Services tab in the navigation bar at the top of the page. A drop down menu will appear. Select Credit Card Services from the menu. You will be taken to the Credit Card Services page. Click on Authorized Users. You will be taken to the Manage Authorized Users page. Click on Add Authorized User. Enter the required information in the text fields provided, such as your name, social security number and phone number. There is no fee to add an authorized user. You are permitted to add up to 10 total authorized users per CitiCard account.
You can contact a Citibank representative by calling, using the chat option or posting on the Citibank help forum.
GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Citi Cards in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our How Do I Add an Authorized User to My Citicard Account? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
