Upon accessing the login page, tap 'Need more help'. Fill in the requested details which include your user-name, email associated with the account, and a new email address to be contacted at. Once the form is submitted, you'll receive an automatic email from Instagram for verification. You must reply to this email with the required information. Instagram support will then verify your ownership and should help you regain access to your account. Remember to change your password immediately after recovery. If you're already logged in on another device, change your password from there.

To recover your hacked account, start by requesting a login link from the Instagram app. Click the 'Forgot password?' link on the login screen and enter your username, email or phone number to get the reset link. If the hacker has changed your email, click on the option ‘need more help'. You will be asked to fill in the original sign up email or phone number. After you submit this, Instagram will reinstate your access. It's advisable to enable two-factor authentication for added security after you gain access. Backup codes are one-use codes that Instagram provides when you set up two-factor authentication. If you can't use your phone number or authentication app to sign in, you can use one of these codes. To enter it, log into Instagram and when you reach the two-factor authentication page, click on 'Need another option?' then select 'Use backup code'. Input one of your eight-digit backup codes. Be aware each code can only be used once then it becomes invalid. Make sure to keep your backup codes safe and accessible, they can be essential if you lose access to your primary two-factor authentication methods.
