If you are trying to update your address but receiving an error message, it may be because the database cannot recognize your address. Whenever you enter your address, it must be scanned against the USPS address database before being accepted. There are a few tips to keep in mind when entering your address. Some of them include the following;

  1. If there is a direction suffix in your street name, do not leave it out
  2. Try both word and numeric versions of your street
  3. Write your complete street address. Do not leave out words such as Avenue or Drive
  4. Avoid punctuations such as commas
  5. If your community has a unique name, enter it rather than your city name

If You Received an Address Change Notification When You Didn't Make a Change

Your billing information will be updated according to files from the USPS. They are sent monthly with updates of your new residence for at least 30 days.
