If you use PNC Bank, you may have used its online banking service to automatically pay your bills. That way, the money is just deducted from your account when the bill comes due, and you never need to worry about forgetting to make the payment again. If you have been paying a bill automatically and now need to stop paying it, you can do so by following the procedure described here.

How to Cancel a Bill Scheduled for Automatic Payments

To cancel payment for a bill you have previously set up to be auto-paid, just follow these instructions:

  1. Go to the PNC Bank Online Banking Portal.
  2. Sign into your account there.
  3. Navigate to the Payment Center.
  4. Scroll down until you see the bill payment that you want to cancel.
  5. Check on its status. If it says In Process or Processed, it is too late to cancel the current payment. All you can do is cancel future payments after the current payment is fully processed.
  6. Click on the Cancel button next to the payment.
  7. Confirm that you want to cancel that payment.

Other Options

If you are canceling the payment because you are worried that you won't have enough funds in your PNC Bank account on time, you should consider your other options. After all, if you cancel the payment, you'll have to make sure that you remember to do it yourself in the future. As long as the payment has not started processing, you can change the date, the amount or the frequency to buy yourself a little more time. Just change these details after selecting the payment in the Payment Center instead of canceling it.

Contacting PNC Bank

If you need help canceling your payment or changing any of its details, you can get it from a PNC Bank customer service agent. To talk to one, just use the phone or the bank's chat or help forum.
