How Do I Book a Flight with Alaska Air?

Alaska Airlines was technically founded in 1932 as McGee Airways, but many things have changed since then. Thankfully, these changes have been for the better and it's no wonder they have the highest customer satisfaction rating at the time of this writing. So, it makes sense to book with them when possible. So how do you book with an airline that believes in customer service? Read on to find out.

You can book either online at alaskaair.com or via the app.

The Website

  1. Go to alaskaair.com and you should see an area for booking on the left side of the page. You can fill in details and make your choices here, or you can follow the steps below.
  2. After you've typed in alaskaair.com, select Book, and then Flights. Then type in your preferences, dates, etc. Then click on Find Flights. Doing it this way means booking on a much larger page, and you're less likely to miss something important.

The App

  1. Open the AlaskaAir app, which is available in Apple AppStore, Google Play and Amazon AppStore.
  2. Tap on Book a Trip and follow the prompts.
  3. Or, if you've already booked but need to make sure your reservation shows up in the app, you can either add it manually or by synching the app with your account via My Trips.
    1. To add manually, tap Add a Reservation and type in your last name and either e-ticket number or confirmation code.
    2. To synch the app when you sign into it, first add your reservation to My Trips under My Account on alaskaair.com.

Helpful Tips

  1. When it comes to checking in, you can do so online 1 to 24 hours before your scheduled departure and you can check in online by typing in the departure city, and then select looking up your reservation by confirmation number, e-ticket number or Mileage Plan number.
  2. How you use the app to check in will depend on if you're using an android or iPhone and if you check-in under the main dashboard or if you tap your reservation first.
  3. If you have any questions or need help, you can also reach Alaska Air 24/7.

Why does GetHuman Write How-to Guides for Alaska Airlines Problems?

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
