How Do I Fix an Error on My Booking with Alaska Air?

You've booked a great flight on Alaska Air but what if you need to change it or cancel it? You are allowed to do both in most cases but you also need to be aware of fees. This guide will give you a basic summary of their fees and show you how to make changes when needed.

Policy on Same Day Flight Changes

Same day flight changes occur when you need to change flights. You are allowed this as long as seats are available on the new flight. The fee for this is $50, except for shuttle flights and flights entirely in California, then the fee is $25.

There are eligibility rules.

1. You must be holding confirmed reservations or tickets for flights operated by Alaska Air. You must also request the change before your original flight's departure.
2. Co-terminal changes are not allowed, you must keep the same origin and destination cities.
3. The new flight must depart on the same day as your original flight.

And Exceptions

1. Guests traveling on either a Saver Fare or vacation package booking are not eligible for same day confirmed changes.
2. Guests traveling in a Group reservation must call the Group Reservation desk to make same day confirmed changes.
3. The same day confirmed change fee is waived for guests traveling in first class and coach classes of service, as well as guests who are members of MVP Gold Mileage Plan.

Changes or Cancellations

The standard fee is $125 to change or cancel, but it is waived for

1. Refundable First-class tickets
2. Members of MVP Gold level Mileage Plan

If you cancel within 24 hours of booking, then you'll receive a full refund of your unused tickets.

Changing within 24 hours of booking can still incur additional charges in the form of differences in fares and taxes. Changes or cancellations made within 24 hours of your flight's departure incur the $125 fee.

Saver Fares are not allowed changes, only cancellations and refunds as outlined above.

1. Go to alaskaair.com and click on the Manage option, then follow the prompts to make the needed changes or to cancel your flight.
2. You can also use the app, simply sign in and tap on your flight, then tap on cancel or look for the edit or manage option. Follow the prompts like normal.
