Try to Force Close the App

Is the Uber app unresponsive or frozen? Try to force close it and see if it resolves the issue. Force-closing an app terminates the application completely.

How to force close the app depends on your device. If you have an iOS device, just swipe the app from the bottom and select the app to force close it. For Android users, you may force close the app by tapping on the three vertical lines found on the navigation bar. You can also go to Settings and then Apps & Notifications. Look for the app and tap Force stop.

If it still doesn't resolve the problem, follow the next step.

Restart Your Phone

Restarting your device can often resolve the issue. If you have an iPhone, just press and hold both the volume up and side buttons until you see "Slide to Power Off", then swipe it to the right to restart your device.

Do you have an Android device? Just press and hold the power button and tap Restart.

Open the Uber application again to see if it resolves the issue. If it doesn't, you may need to update the app. To do this, follow the next step.

Update the App

Just go to the Play Store or App Store and open the Uber app. Check if there is an Update option, and tap Update. After updating the app, open it again to see if it will fix the problem. If it doesn't, your next option is to uninstall and reinstall the app. To do this, follow the next step.

Uninstall and Reinstall

Still having issues with your Uber? You may be able to finally resolve it by uninstalling and reinstalling the app. To uninstall, simply long-press on the app icon and click "Remove App" if you're using an iPhone and tap "Uninstall" if you have an Android device.

After uninstalling Uber, go back to the Play Store or App Store and reinstall the app. This should work this time. Otherwise, consider using another device to see if it fixes the issue.

Conclusion

When the problem persists, the issue may be on Uber's end. You may consider contacting Uber Support via the app or the website for any issues regarding the app. Just go to the Help section on the app and tap Call Support. You may also consider messaging them on their social media handles. If you need further assistance, do not hesitate to get in touch with Customer Support today.

Why does GetHuman Write How-to Guides for Uber Problems?

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
