Booking.com is one of the leading travel booking sites. With millions of properties in thousands of locations, booking accommodation has never been easier. However, what happens if you've made a booking that you're no longer happy with?
Whether your travel plans have changed or you've decided the accommodation isn't quite what you're looking for, follow these few simple steps to cancel your Booking.com reservation.
To cancel your Booking.com reservation, you'll need your login details (i.e. the email address and password used when creating your account). Although not essential, it will help if you have the booking number of the reservation you want to cancel.
Click on Sign in, located in the top right-hand corner of the Booking.com homepage.
Enter the email address that's linked to your Booking.com account, click on Continue with email, and then enter your password.
Alternatively, you can sign in using your Google, Apple, or Facebook account. However, this option is only possible if you used this method when first setting up your account.
Now that you're logged in, you need to find the reservation you want to cancel. Click on your name in the top right-hand corner to bring up a list of options. Click on Bookings & Trips.
You should now see a list of all the reservations you've made on Booking.com. Locate the city the property is located in and click on it. The dates of your booking will also be listed. If it's the next trip you're taking, it will be at the top of the list.
Your reservations for the chosen city will now appear. Find the reservation you want to cancel and click on it.
The next page will show all the details of the booking. Double-check it's the reservation you want to cancel. Look on the right-hand side of the page, below the confirmation number and PIN code. You should see an X followed by Cancel your booking. Click on it.
Booking.com will now ask why you want to cancel the reservation. Choose a reason from the drop-down list. Look on the right-hand side to see how much you'll be charged to cancel. Some cancellations are free while others incur charges, especially if your planned stay is only a day or two away. Click on View cancellation policy to see the policy for this particular property.
Once you're happy to go ahead with the cancellation, click on Confirm.
Your reservation has now been cancelled. Check your inbox for an email confirming the cancellation.
If your travel plans change, or you're not 100% happy with the accommodation you've booked on Booking.com, follow these few steps to cancel your reservation. Remember to check the property's terms and conditions for their cancellation policy. That way, you know whether you'll receive a full refund, a partial refund, or whether you'll be charged the full amount of your booking.
If you're having difficulties cancelling your reservation or have any questions, it's time to contact Booking.com's customer service team for assistance.
GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
After helping consumers for 10 years, we realized that you need an impartial, live person you can talk to about comparing the various TV, cable, Internet and phone plans in your area- somebody who can compare the best deals across telecom providers. So we created a free concierge service you can call at the phone number below.
