How Do I Book a Flight with Alaska Air?

Alaska Air is one of the best airlines when it comes to customer service and they make booking a flight easy, either on the app or online. You can also check in anytime between 1 hour and 24 hours ahead of your scheduled departure. Should you run into any problems, you will experience that highly-rated customer service.

Alaska Airlines was technically founded in 1932 as McGee Airways, but many things have changed since then. Thankfully, these changes have been for the better and it's no wonder they have the highest customer satisfaction rating at the time of this writing. So, it makes sense to book with them when possible. So how do you book with an airline that believes in customer service? Read on to find out.

You can book either online at alaskaair.com or via the app.

The Website

  1. Go to alaskaair.com and you should see an area for booking on the left side of the page. You can fill in details and make your choices here, or you can follow the steps below.
  2. After you've typed in alaskaair.com, select Book, and then Flights. Then type in your preferences, dates, etc. Then click on Find Flights. Doing it this way means booking on a much larger page, and you're less likely to miss something important.

The App

  1. Open the AlaskaAir app, which is available in Apple AppStore, Google Play and Amazon AppStore.
  2. Tap on Book a Trip and follow the prompts.
  3. Or, if you've already booked but need to make sure your reservation shows up in the app, you can either add it manually or by synching the app with your account via My Trips.
    1. To add manually, tap Add a Reservation and type in your last name and either e-ticket number or confirmation code.
    2. To synch the app when you sign into it, first add your reservation to My Trips under My Account on alaskaair.com.

Helpful Tips

  1. When it comes to checking in, you can do so online 1 to 24 hours before your scheduled departure and you can check in online by typing in the departure city, and then select looking up your reservation by confirmation number, e-ticket number or Mileage Plan number.
  2. How you use the app to check in will depend on if you're using an android or iPhone and if you check-in under the main dashboard or if you tap your reservation first.
