AT&T Wireless is a major telecommunications company with headquarters in Dallas, Texas. The company was founded in 2000 and was originally called Cingular Wireless. The organization provides wireless phone and Internet services to customers across the United States, including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. If you have lost your AT&T phone, or think it's stolen, follow the steps outlined below.

Attempt to Locate Your Device

Before you take any actions, attempt to locate your mobile device. Search any areas you've been around recently. Next, try to search for your phone online. It's important to note that you'll only be able to use these apps if they were downloaded and active before you lost your phone.

  1. For iPhones, go to https://www.icloud.com/find
  2. For Androids, go to https://www.google.com/android/find
  3. For Windows, go to https://account.microsoft.com/account/
  4. If you have a Lookout account, go to https://my.lookout.com/user/login
  5. If you have an AT&T Secure account, activate the find feature

Log into any of these accounts and attempt to locate and retrieve your device.

Suspend Your Service Online

If you can't locate the phone or believe it's been stolen, you can suspend your AT&T Wireless service. This will block anyone from using your device and accessing your personal information.

  1. Go to https://my.lookout.com/user/login
  2. Log in to your account with your User ID and password
  3. Choose the most applicable reason for why you need to suspend your device
  4. Select ‘Suspend.'
  5. Follow the instructions on the screen to suspend your device and block it if it was stolen.
  6. You'll receive an email confirming your phone has been suspended and/or blocked.
  7. Next, change your password to any apps you had on your phone, such as your email accounts, financial apps, and social media accounts. As a cautionary measure, also change your password for your AT&T account.

Suspend Your Service Via Calling Customer Service

You can choose to call into the AT&T Wireless Customer Support line and ask for assistance. Explain your situation and ask for help in suspending your service and potentially blocking your phone. For security reasons, you will need to provide personal and account details to verify your identity. Keep the customer service agent on the line until you receive an email confirming your mobile device has been suspended. You can ask the agent what your options are in terms of replacing your device.
