I went into a target in turnersville, nj and was completely disrespected by a customer service representative. The African American customer service rep seemed to be okay with speaking to me but once my white wife spoke and alerted her that we actually owed money due to a false sale price, the rep told my wife she needs to calm down because we were taking care of it. I had my mixed children with me and it was not okay for them to see racism like that. If it were a white person to a black person, all **** would have broken loose. So why is it okay for this bitter black woman to do the same to my white wife. It was clear that she was irritated by her presence. I’m black and she showed me respect. She needed to give my wife the same respect. She treated her like she was disgusted with her presence. I work in law enforcement and I know the importance of treating people with respect to get it back. This lady had no idea who she was speaking to and acted as if we owed her something. She single handedly turned me off from ever spending another dollar in target. I will be sure to tell my fellow officers to do the same. Target no longer gets out support. She was unable to handle a discrepancy at the register and was unable to remain professional. I spoke with another employee that she called over to help. She continued to ring up my purchase. While I was in the middle of the conversation she sat my water near the credit card machine. I did not grab the water right away as I was speaking to the other employee. She interrupts the conversation and says... are you gonna take yo water! The entire experience was unprofessional. I spoke with a supervisor and he was disgusted by the claims. He agreed that something needed to be done. How many interracial, same *** couples are being mistreated in TARGET!? we felt unwelcome and that is not okay. I will do everything in my power to spread the word on this experience to see if anyone else comes forward with and experience such as mine. Now is the time to tell me to calm down because I am extremely irate and disgruntled. I respected target enough to inform management. Next will be the news and a boycott of Target by myself and every fellow officer that loves and supports my family that did not deserve that treatment. You e let me down target.
