If You Were Banned
TikTok regularly reviews user content for any violations of its rules. This process is automated with no human oversight, so the robot that scans accounts for violations can easily make mistakes and cause a user to be falsely banned. If the AI thinks one or more of these rules have been broken, it can ban you without even telling you the reason why. These reasons can include:
- Hate speech
- Bullying
- Promoting crime or terrorism
- Posting obscene content
- Using a bot
- Buying likes and/or followers
- Promoting discrimination
- Using illegal drugs in videos
You can try to get this decision reversed by appealing via email. Be polite, keep it calm and simply describe why you think the ban was implemented in error. Tell TikTok why your account is important to you.
Remember, TikTok receives a large volume of emails, and reviews of something like this can take some time.
If You Can't Remember the Correct Password
If you've forgotten your password, you can get into your account and change it to a new one by following these instructions:
- Go to the TikTok login page.
- Tap "Forgot Password?"
- Enter your email address or phone number. You will be emailed or texted a code.
- Retrieve the code.
- Enter it.
- Enter a new password.
- Tap "Log In" to confirm the change.
