How Can I Fix a Cracked or Broken Safelink Phone?

Safelink is a cellphone company sponsored by the government. It provides its customers with no-frills cellphones with monthly airtime credits for eligible customers.

You may be eligible for a Safelink phone even if you have a job. You qualify if your gross household income is at or below 135% of the Federal Government Poverty Standards. You may also be eligible if you receive support from most of the federal agencies.

If you have a cracked or broken Safelink phone, you can replace it. Follow these steps to get a replacement.

Report Your Phone Broken or Cracked

Once you realize that your phone is cracked or broken, report to Safelink and ask for help. Contacting them on the phone is the best way to seek help. When speaking with a customer support agent, they may ask you to answer a few questions. Some of the most important details that you need to provide include; your home address, your Safelink phone number, the last four digits of your Social Security number, and your date of birth. If you don't have the relevant details, the customer support agent cannot prove that you are the account holder.

Ask to Replace Your Phone

When you contact the support agent, ask them to help you get a replacement. They will help you initiate a replacement request. Your replacement phone will be sent to your address free of charge. You may have to wait up to 10 business days unless you opt for Rush delivery.

You can ask for a replacement only once. If your phone breaks or cracks again, you may have to pay for the full price of a new handset.

Activation

When you receive your replacement phone, it will be activated and ready to use. You simply need to insert the battery and power your phone on. If you run into any challenges when using it, contact the support team and ask for help. The support agents can help you activate it or identify the cause of the problem.

Your replacement Safelink phone will have only 10 minutes. All your existing minutes will be forfeited. In the next month, you will receive your free minutes as usual.

Your Safelink replacement phone will most probably be refurbished. If you lose your replacement phone, you have to purchase a new one. If it is lost in transit, it may be replaced in the sole discretion of TracFone.

If you run into any challenges while trying to replace your phone, you may seek help from the support team. The best way to speak to a Safelink agent is on the phone. When you are connected with an agent, explain your problem to them as accurately as possible. The support agents are professional and experienced. They will give you the help you need fast.

Another option to speak with a representative is on live chat. It is the best alternative to phone support.

If you don't need to speak with an agent, you may seek support on email. Send the support team a brief email of your problem but include all the relevant details. Be patient as you and a member of the support team may need to send a few emails back and forth.

The Safelink help desk has lots of tips and suggestions that may help answer your question. Seek support on the help desk before exploring other support alternatives.
