If you received a Lyft gift card, you had to redeem it on Lyft's website to get the balance applied to your account before using it. If you then checked your account's balance and discovered that either the balance was incorrect or it wouldn't load at all, you should figure out the reason before getting another ride from Lyft.
If Lyft's website stops working when you check your balance, a lost internet connection could be the culprit. That would leave your device endlessly waiting for a response that never comes. Try again after you fix the connection. A problem with Lyft's server could also keep your device waiting. So if your internet connection is still good, wait for Lyft's repair crew to fix the server. If it doesn't, contact Lyft's customer service and report your problem. It should get fixed soon after that.
If the Lyft website displays a low balance, the problem could result from something going wrong during the gift card redemption process. This is particularly likely if you only redeemed your card right before you checked the balance and the balance is off by the amount on the card. Contact Lyft‘s customer service department and let someone know what happened.
If a redemption error isn't the problem, then someone has been ordering rides on your Lyft account. Sign in and look for any recent rides that you didn't order. If you find such records, ask everyone else who uses your account if they ordered these rides. If they didn't, someone is using your Lyft account without your permission. Change your Lyft password before any further charges appear.
Report any unauthorized use of your Lyft account to Lyft's customer service department. It's possible it could help you regain access to your gift card balance and maybe even find out who ordered those rides. Make the report during regular business hours, so you can be ready to answer questions from people in other departments.
If you need help with your gift card issue, you can reach a Lyft representative on the company help forum. There are no other online contact options and no phone number.
GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
