If you had your new phone shipped to you, you must activate it within 14 days or your service may be interrupted or canceled, in order to protect your personal information.If your AT&T plan has the AT&T Personal Cloud service available, use it to easily upload important information to the AT&T personal cloud and then download them again into your new phone.However you do it, make sure to save and transfer all your important data from your old phone to your new one.In most cases, you should be able to use your new phone within minutes of activating it. However, in some rare cases, it could take up to 24 hours after you activate it before you can use it. It depends in part on the requirements your current carrier has.
