AT&T is a telecommunications company founded in 1983. The company was previously called Southwestern Bell Corporation from 1983-1955 before becoming SBC Communications in 1995, and AT&T in 2005. The organization offers customers services for mobile phones and landlines, Wi-Fi and the Internet, and televisions.
If you're currently a customer with AT&T and need to change or cancel your payment arrangements, keep reading for the detailed instructions on how to do so. You may wish to do this if your prepaid monthly charge is occurring on a date that is inconvenient for you, if you have recently changed cards, or if you want to have a different person cover the payments.
Go to www.att.com
In the top right corner, select 'Account,' and 'Sign In.'
Sign in to your account with your AT&T username and password.
Under your account, go to 'Billing and Payment Options.'
Click on 'Scheduled Payments.'
Make the changes and save. If you wish to cancel, choose 'Cancel' and remove your payment details.
You'll receive an email verifying the changes have been made.
If you're experiencing difficulties making the changes online, you can check the AT&t Help Forum for answers. Chances are, another person has experienced a similar problem, and there is an outlined solution for you to follow.
If you can't seem to troubleshoot the process and continue to have problems online, you should call into the AT&T customer support center. Describe your online problems to the customer service agent to see if they can help you troubleshoot. If they're unable to resolve the online problems, ask them to assist you in changing or canceling the payment arrangements. You'll receive an email once the change is made. Make sure to keep the customer service representative on the line until you receive the email and have a chance to review it.
GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like AT&T in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our How Can I Change or Cancel a Payment Arrangement I Made with AT&T? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
