Messages are usually good things, especially when they're from friends. If a message is from an app, it can go either way. However, should you see the message "Unfortunately, TikTok has stopped," please don't panic, and keep in mind these troubleshooting tips. Read on to learn more.

Why You Receive This Message

TikTok is letting you know that it's crashing before it does so. You might have the option to report this to your respective app store, but there's more that you can try. Please note that when you see this message, TikTok is having problems due to a software glitch.

What You Can Do

One possible cause of TikTok crashing is an incomplete update or a missing update. Check your respective app store and your phone's settings if there are any updates available. If both are up to date, then it's possible that there was something wrong with the last update. You may need to uninstall and reinstall the app if this happened to you. Keep in mind that uninstalling the app won't delete your TikTok account, it just removes the bad update.

Another possible solution is to close and restart TikTok. Make sure to close it out completely so that it's not running in the background. Restarting TikTok usually resolves the issue instantly.

One final solution is to delete the cache, which is data stored on your phone and is supposed to make the app work better. Sometimes, this gets corrupted by a bug and needs to be cleared first. The result of this is that the app gets its needed data from the original software that installed it on your phone.
