How Do I Find My Account Number and Routing Number with PNC Bank?

In a nutshell: An account number is a set of numbers or a unique code used to identify a specific account at a bank or other financial institution. You need it when making a deposit or withdrawing money. The routing number, on the other hand, is used to identify the bank or the financial institution. You may need it to make an online payment or receive payments online, like PayPal. Note that small banks may only have one routing number, while larger organizations may have multiple routing numbers. Do you know where to find them? We'll show you how in this helpful guide.

Introduction

An account number is a set of numbers or a unique code used to identify a specific account at a bank or other financial institution. You need it when making a deposit or withdrawing money. The routing number, on the other hand, is used to identify the bank or the financial institution. You may need it to make an online payment or receive payments online, like PayPal. Open the PNC Bank App

Enter Your Login Credentials

Tap on Your Account

Tap Account Actions

Tap Account and Routing Numbers

This will be under Account Actions.

Enter the One-Time Passcode

Choose whether you want to receive the passcode via text or via a phone call. Once you have the code, enter the 6-digit code and click Submit.

Make sure you still have access to the phone number associated with your PNC Bank, or you won't be able to get a code, and the routing and account numbers won't display.

Check the Routing and Account Number

Now you can see your routing number and account number. Click Close.

If you're using the web, proceed to the next steps and make sure the browser you're using is the current version. Using older versions of Chrome or Safari may lead to limited functionality. It may not be possible to view your routing number or account number with an old browser.

Log in to Online Banking and Open Your Savings or Checking Account

Click View Account/Routing Number

You can find this option just below your account name.

Do you use a paper check? You can also find the routing number and account number on a PNC Bank check. Check out the next step.

Look at Your Checkbook

The first 9 digits at the bottom left is the routing number. The next set of numbers is your PNC Bank account number.

Once you have your PNC account number, never share it with people you don't trust. Scammers may use it to make fraudulent withdrawals. It also increases risk, especially when they also possess your card number. If possible, use QR codes for fund transfers or payment requests, as it's more secure than giving out bank numbers.

Conclusion

PNC Bank is a brick-and-mortar bank, so you can visit a branch to open an account. Upon account opening, a bank representative will also provide you with the account number you can use when setting up online banking. To stay safe online, enable your multi-factor authentication and use strong passwords. Don't log in using public Wi-Fi. Never share your passwords and avoid links that may lead to bank info theft. If you suspect unusual activities in your account, report them directly to PNC Bank. Do you have further questions about finding your account number and routing number? Contact Support today.

Why does GetHuman Write How-to Guides for PNC Bank Problems?

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
