How Do I Add My Ktin to My Ticket on Delta Airlines?

Having a KTIN or KTN is part of being a member of TSA's PreCheck program, where you don't have to remove your shoes, jacket, belts, or your laptop from its bag. Boarding your flight is made much more convenient and your status automatically shows on your boarding pass and updating your KTN information is easier from your My Delta dashboard. If you have any questions regarding your membership, please call the TSA.

A KTIN, or Known Traveler Identification Number or Known Traveler Number, is a unique ID assigned to you once you applied for the TSA PreCheck program, but should you use a similar traveler program, such as Global Entry, NEXUS, or SENTRI, your KTN is referred to as your PASSID. The PreCheck program can make your airport visit more convenient, as you will have a screening lane where you will not have to remove your belts, shoes or jacket, nor remove a laptop from its bag. Many airlines have a PreCheck program, but this guide will advise you on helping you add your KTN to your Delta booking.

If you are chosen for TSA PreCheck, your boarding pass will have a PreCheck indicator. This includes paper or digital boarding passes.

  1. Go to your My Delta dashboard by logging in here https://www.delta.com/login/loginPage
  2. Go to Basic information, which might be listed as basic info, and then go to add/update Secure Flight Passenger Data.
  3. From here, you'll be able to add or update your TSA PreCheck KTN, as well as your information for Customs and Border Protection programs like Global Entry and NEXUS.
  4. Please note that your KTN is good for 5 years and you will need to renew within one year of your PreCheck membership expiring. You will keep the same KTN if you do. If you wait over a year, you will need to apply as a new member and receive a new KTN.
  5. If you have any questions about TSA PreCheck enrollments or renewal, please contact TSA PreCheck customer service here.
  6. Questions about other enrollment providers need to be directed to the main TSA customer service number here.
  7. For questions about your Delta booking, including inquiries regarding fees or baggage policies, call Delta directly here.
