If you recently got an eBay gift card, you are probably eager to use it. This article will tell you how to apply your eBay gift card to your purchase.

How to Use Your eBay Gift Card

To use your eBay gift card to make a purchase, follow these instructions:

  1. Go to eBay's website.
  2. Sign into your account.
  3. Find something that you want to buy.
  4. Click on the Buy Now button (or enter a bid and wait to see if it is accepted).
  5. Enter the shipping information.
  6. Enter the payment details if the purchase amount is larger than the balance on your gift card.
  7. Scroll down until you see the Add Coupons field.
  8. Look on the back of a physical gift card for the redemption code. You might need to scratch off the security coating first. Look in the email you got when your card was delivered for a digital gift card.
  9. Enter the redemption code in the Add Coupons field.
  10. Click on the Apply button.
  11. Double-check your order details.
  12. Click on the Confirm and Pay button.

Gift Card Purchase Restrictions

There are several things you can't use your eBay gift card to buy. These are:

  • Coins
  • Paper money
  • Bullion
  • Cryptocurrency
  • Any other form of digital currency
  • Coupons
  • Other gift cards

You also cannot use more than four gift cards on a single transaction. Additionally, your gift card will be linked to your account the first time you use it. After that, you can only use that gift card on that eBay account. You cannot transfer it to another account.
