How Do I Request a Refund to a Gift Card from eBay?
Log in to your eBay account and go to Gift Cards in My eBay to request a refund to a gift card. Click the link for the gift card you used for your purchase, then click Request Refund. Type your reason for requesting a refund into the box and click Submit. You will receive an email confirming that you have submitted your request.
You can use your gift card to purchase just about anything on eBay. If you're dissatisfied with an item you bought from an eBay store, you may be able to return it and get a refund. Follow these steps to request a refund to a gift card from eBay after your purchase.
1. Log In to Your eBay Account
Log in to your eBay account, find the item you purchased and click on Details. This will take you to a page that includes the seller's information and other details about the transaction, such as shipping information, returns and exchanges.
2. Select Request a Refund From the Menu That Appears
Go to the Account tab, select My Account, then select Resolution Center. Choose gift cards on the left side of the page. You can see any gift cards associated with your account and request a refund.
Once you get to the Receive Refund screen, you will see instructions on what information you need to complete for your refund request. A list of items eligible for a refund will appear on the next screen.
3. Provide Your Details
To request a refund to a gift card for the items you purchased from eBay, provide your name, email address and the transaction ID in your request. Be sure to include your order number (if available).
4. Attach a Note Explaining Why You Want a Refund
Click on the View button next to the listing where you would like to request a refund. Next, select Request Refund at the bottom of the page. You will receive a prompt to fill in information about why you want a refund for the items purchased with your gift card.
Explain why you want a refund and attach a note to your request. Enter the amount you originally paid, the seller's name and the item number, including any details about their refund policy in the form field.
5. Enter Your Gift Card Number To Begin the Process
Enter your Gift Card number. If you accept the terms and conditions, click 'Next' to continue with the claim request process.
6. Click Request Refund
Click My eBay and then choose the Payment tab. Select the payment option that you used to purchase the item. Click on the gift card associated with this purchase. Select and submit your request.
7. Package and Return Your Items
You must return the item to the seller in its original condition, unused and unopened in its original packaging. You are responsible for all postage costs associated with returning your eBay purchase.
8. Check Your Email for Confirmation
Once you complete the refund process and receive confirmation of your refund, eBay will email you letting you know that it has processed your request.
Once eBay approves it, it will return the funds to your account or the gift card you used for payment. You can check the status of your refund request by going to My eBay and then Purchase History.
