What happens if I miss my Southwest Airlines flight?
If you miss your Southwest Airlines flight, you have a few options to consider. Firstly, if you arrive at the gate after the aircraft door has closed but before the plane has departed, you can request to be put on the next available flight at no additional charge. This is known as standby travel. However, keep in mind that standby availability is not guaranteed, and you might have to wait for an open seat. Alternatively, if you miss your flight altogether, you can choose to reuse the funds from your unused ticket on a future flight within one year from the original purchase date. However, a fare difference may apply. In certain cases, if you have purchased a Business Select or Anytime fare, you may be eligible for a refund for the unused portion of your ticket.
