Check for Outages

Go to Spectrum's Outage page and click on Check Outages. You will be prompted to sign in to your account. Once logged in, you'll know if your address or account is affected by an outage.

It's also recommended to sign up for service alerts. You can do this by enabling push notifications on your Spectrum app.

Enable Push Notifications

Click Enable Push Notifications and follow the on-screen instructions. If an outage occurs, you’ll receive a notification informing you that there is a service outage in your area. Spectrum will also provide an estimated date for when service will be restored. If you do not receive any outage notification, you may need to report the issue to Spectrum. To do this, proceed to the next step.

Contact Spectrum

When calling, be sure to provide your account number and address, as Spectrum staff will verify your identity. Report the outage and include the services affected, so they can inform the technical team. Once Spectrum has the outage info, the technical team will start restoration efforts as soon as possible to prevent further disruptions to your service.

Chat With Support

Feel free to also chat with Spectrum Support. However, be sure to do this during business hours to ensure you speak with a live customer service representative. If you don't want long hold times, this is where we come in. We can also help you get in touch with Spectrum representatives, helping you save time.

After reporting the outage, ask Spectrum for an estimated time when service will be restored. If the outage was caused by a natural disaster, you may also ask whether your bill can be adjusted.

Conclusion

Why does GetHuman Write How-to Guides for Charter Communications Problems?

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
