Spectrum has a mobile protection plan which acts as an insurance policy and helps customer devices function optimally and fix technical problems. Every customer has the option of enrolling in the Spectrum protection plan when they purchase a new device via Spectrum Mobile.

Coverage

Spectrum's mobile protection plan will cover your device in the event of loss, theft, accidental damage and mechanical or electrical breakdown. Apple devices covered under the plan can also receive services from Apple Care services if they are enrolled in the Spectrum Mobile Protection Plan.

If your device is covered under the Spectrum Mobile Protection Plan, you can qualify for a replacement within 12 months of purchase. You can file your claim online or through the phone.

For the replacement to be approved, the device should not have been tampered with or repaired at an unauthorized repair center. You must also have the manufacturer's original packaging.

Once you make a claim and it is approved, Spectrum will send you instructions as to how to receive a replacement including shipping instructions for returning the broken device.

The instructions are typically as follows:

  1. Back up your personal data and then remove it all from your device
  2. If you have a PIN or screen lock, remove it
  3. Disable any tracking features you have enabled on your phone
  4. Switch off your device and remove your SIM card
  5. Find the return form and shipping label that were included in the original device's packaging/box.
  6. Put the device or any other item you would like to return in the box. If you do not have the original packaging you can use a box of your own. However, you should one box per device if you are returning more than one device for proper processing. Do not include the battery, charge or manual when returning the device.
  7. Seal the box after checking all the necessary things are inside and attach the shipping label.
  8. Take the package to a FedEx Shipping Center. Ensure you receive a receipt with the package's tracking details from FedEx.
