Cricket Wireless Unlocking Requirements

The phone you want to unlock has to have been active for at least the last six months. This requirement doesn't apply to Cricket Wireless phones purchased through the Unlimited Max Plan. The phone number also can't have been reported as stolen, lost or suspended because of fraud.

If You're Traveling to Canada or Mexico

If you have any Cricket plan in the $50 per month and up range calling from Canada and Mexico is included in your plan. You do not need to unlock your phone for it.

Unlocking Your Cricket Wireless Phone on a Computer

To unlock your phone, follow these instructions:

Go to the Cricket Wireless website.
Sign in to your account.
Go to Account Settings.
Select Get Code.
Find the number of the phone you want to unlock.
Click on Request Unlock.
If you have an Android phone, the unlock code will be displayed on the screen and texted to you. If you have an iPhone, the code will be texted to you the next business day.
Turn off your phone once you are ready for a new SIM card.
Remove your current SIM card.
Insert the new SIM card.
Turn your phone back on.
Enter the unlock code when prompted.
Follow any other prompts you are given.
Restart your phone.
