Dear Customer Service,*I am writing because we are VERY disappointed with the problem the occurred when ordering a microwave from Target.com and the chain of "customer service" events that ensued thereafter.*On Friday, Dec **, my husband Kevin ordered a microwave using primarily gift cards that I received from my second grade students and their families for Christmas. The microwave was not a gift just something that we needed for guests visiting after the first of the year.*It was order number: **************My husband entered all of the shipping, billing, gift card and credit card information correctly. *We have not ordered from Target.com in quite some time. He corrected our address (for both shipping and billing) as we moved from Duluth, MN to Goodyear, AZ six months ago.*He confirmed everything prior to submitting the order, including the new address.*When the initial email came about the order it indicated it was shipping to our former home in Duluth despite the fact that NONE of that information was provided.*Kevin immediately called Customer Service to get the problem corrected. He was on hold for a long time due to the upcoming holiday. When he finally spoke with someone, they said it was a "glitch" in the system...totally the fault of Target but we would have to contact the Post Office to get it rerouted to our home in AZ.*Kevin called Target Customer Service back as directed as soon as we received the tracking number from the Postal Service. It is: *******************************He was then told that the department that takes care of rerouting packages was closed and we would have to call the post office in Duluth to cancel delivery and have the package marked "return to sender." The Customer Service Representative sent us a whopping $* e-gift card for our trouble. *So, on Christmas Eve morning my husband spent more time on the phone trying to fix Target's error for you. *The postmaster at the Mount Royal Post Office said the microwave was out for delivery but that he would ask the carrier not to deliver it and mark it "return to sender." Of course, we can only assume that this actually happened on such a busy day.*So, where are we now? Lots of wasted time trying to correct Target's error...no microwave and none of my gift cards. In fact, all we really have is a lousy $* e-gift card that we are not likely to use at Target.com after this fiasco.*I would like you to immediately ship our microwave to our home in Goodyear AZ and provide confirmation that this has been accomplished. I would like a contact name and phone number for a responsible person. This is not the level of "customer service" that Target built it's empire one. * I would also like an apology and something better than further instructions and a $* e-gift card.*We both grew up in the Twin Cities and we know that most folks highly regard Target in the area.
