This is regarding DL****. We were supposed to depart at *:** am. However as soon as got on the plane an announcement was made that there was a mechanical issue and they would need to replace the parts. The estimated time it would take was ** minutes. However, after waiting over an hour, we were told that when trying to fix the part, the tool slipped and all the wires were severed so they didn’’t know how long it was going to take to fix the issue. This is absolutely ridiculous and unheard of. Not only that, but we were forced to sit on the plane while they fixed it and figured out what to do. It took over two hours to fix the problem and depart. *It is very questionable why Delta and it’s staff waited until everyone boarded the plane in the first place to figure out that there was a problem. The mechanical issue should have been caught and fixed before the passengers even boarded the flight. The flight was completely delayed and as a result we didn’t make it to Arizona until after **pm. *This is now the second flight I’ve been on with Delta within a month where there have been mechanical issues that have been caught AFTER I’ve boarded on to the plane.* This is unacceptable and I expect better quality and service when flying Delta. I’m extremely unhappy with this situation and how it was handled, and I will not be flying with Delta in the future if such mechanical failures and delays continue to occur.
