Universal Acceptance allows you to use your E-Trade card in place of a check or cash anyplace that accepts Mastercard at many locations worldwide.

Unlimited ATM Fee Refunds

You can use your E-Trade debit card to get cash from more than two million ATM machines around the world, and if you are charged a fee for using ATMs in the US, it will be refunded to you.

Convenient Purchases

Your E-Trade debit card can be used anywhere that Mastercard is accepted after adding it to your mobile wallet.

Quick Travel Plan Notifications

To avoid any service interruptions, all you have to do is call and provide E-Trade with your travel dates.

Advanced Protection

If your E-Trade debit card is lost or stolen, you will be able to lock it any time by visiting the E-Trade website or accessing the mobile app.

Accounts That Are Eligible for a Debit Card

Bank Accounts

  1. E-Trade checking accounts are eligible for an E-Trade checking debit card.
  2. Max-rate checking accounts are eligible for an E-Trade Max-rate checking card.

Brokerage Accounts

  1. If you are over 59 ½ years old, your IRA account may be eligible. Contact a support agent at E-Trade for more information about getting an E-Trade Complete IRA account.
  2. Domestic custodial, individual, or joint brokerage accounts are eligible to get an E-Trade Complete debit card.

Note: Savings accounts aren't qualified for a debit card.

How to Set or Change Your PIN

You will be asked to set a PIN during the activation process of your new card, or you can log into your account at E-Trade to set your PIN. In addition, you can contact an agent at E-Trade to set up, change, or request a reminder of your PIN to be sent to you by mail.

Debit Card Daily Limits

You are allowed to withdraw up to $1,000 cash per day with your E-Trade debit card from any ATM machine. You can make up to $5,000 worth of purchases per day with your E-Trade debit card.

Note: The limits for both depend on your account's available balance.

What to Do if Your card was Lost or Stolen or to Dispute a Transaction

Contact E-Trade immediately if any of the following takes place:

  • If you think your E-Trade debit card was lost or stolen.
  • If you believe your PIN was discovered by another person.
  • If you believe that someone may have or has conducted automated transactions without your consent.

Ensure Your Debit Card Works in Foreign Countries

If you want to ensure that your card will work in another country, contact an agent at E-Trade in advance to let them know of your plans to travel. For security purposes, your card will continue to be monitored for suspicious actions.
