WhatsApp allows users to chat, talk and share photos and videos with friends and family worldwide. The only requirement is a Wi-Fi connection and the mobile app to use the service, but it's also important to know how to use all the features available. How do you send videos using WhatsApp? You can find out more about the services WhatsApp offers by contacting customer support here, and below is information on how you can share videos using the platform.

Sharing Your Videos

First, you need to know the size limit on videos before trying to upload one. WhatsApp allows users to share media no more than 16 megabytes, which is about a 90-second to three-minute video, depending on the video quality. If you need to send a longer video, you can break it up into smaller sections and send each one separately. You can send a pre-recorded video, or you can record one directly on the app.

Sending a Video Recorded on WhatsApp

To record a video in the app and send it to the recipient, follow the steps outlined below:

  1. Open WhatsApp on your device.
  2. Tap the recipient's thumbnail to open a chat box for that person.
  3. Select the camera icon at the bottom of the screen.
  4. To record a video in the app, hold your finger in the circle.
  5. Remove your finger from the screen to stop recording.
  6. After recording, you can review, edit or add a caption to your video.
  7. Click the white arrow in the blue circle beside the caption bar to send.

Sending a Pre-Recorded Video

If you want to share a video you already have on your phone or tablet, you can send it by following the steps outlined here:

  1. Open WhatsApp on your phone or tablet.
  2. Click the recipient for your video.
  3. Tap the plus to the left of the chat bar.
  4. Select "Photo and Video Library" on your device.
  5. Choose the video you wish to send.
  6. Add a caption, edit or review your video.
  7. Click the white arrow in the blue circle to send it to the recipient.

When you send your video, two checks will appear in the message showing it was delivered. When the checks turn blue, the recipient has opened the message. Sending a video is easy over WhatsApp. For more information or assistance, contact WhatsApp customer support here.
