Phone bills are somewhat expensive, but at the same time, they are easy to manage. You can do this by lowering the bills and monitoring them regularly.
How Can I Lower or Monitor My Straight Talk Bills
A smartphone in today's society is a basic need but comes with an expensive bill at the end of the month or year. I was going through my plan package, wondering how I can lower or monitor my Straight Talk bill.
I was successful, and I managed to come up with a few methods of lowering and monitoring the Straight Talk bill. I compiled my findings to share with you on this article.
How to Lower the Straight Talk Bills
Below are some of the methods I tried and worked to slice up my Straight Talk bills into half.
1. Using Discount Carriers
The big carriers, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile, lease their cell bandwidth to the smaller carriers, which in turn sell the offers at discounted prices. This means that you can access either of AT&T, Sprint or even T-Mobile at lower prices than the original carrier.
In this case, Straight Talk Mobile customers use Sprint and T-Mobile networks for much lower prices, better deals and affordable plans.
I, therefore, recommend that you use these discounted carriers for the same service at a pocket-friendly price.
2. Negotiate on a better deal
Call the Straight Talk sales team to get a better deal, promotion or discount.
I found out that I was spending more on Straight Talk on a plan that I would have at a lower price elsewhere. I called the customer service team to cancel my plan as it was expensive. Immediately, they connected me to the sales personnel who, in turn, gave me a counter offer.
The sales people do everything to keep you locked in. If you happen to complain about the prices, they come up with a better deal or even inform you of ongoing promotions and discounts.
By doing this, I saved a whole $10 a month. Hence it is much wiser to look out for the best deals within and out of the network.
3. Analyze the usage
Sometimes we get so caught up in the entertainment that we forget to check what extra items we are spending on.
You can begin by checking the past usage records for your calls, texts and data. From this, you will know the exact amount of calls, texts and data allowance you require for a whole month.
After this, select the right plan, which is within your minimums and maximums.
The unlimited plan is quite okay, but I found it unnecessary since there was a plan that suited the range between my previous minimum and maximum usage. It is much cheaper to get a basic plan rather than an unlimited one.
However, if you are fond of surpassing your limits, the unlimited plan works best. This is because the charges after going past plan limits are incredibly high on Straight Talk.
Monitoring the Straight Talk bills
Keeping track of your usage is essential in saving money. It also helps to prevent reaching and surpassing plan limits, which result in more extensive bills.
On Straight Talk, you can keep watch of your bills in two ways;
1. Monitoring Bills Online
You can keep track of your Straight Talk bills through the Straight Talk website. On the menu to your right, tap on the ‘see balance' icon.
You need to log in to your account by submitting and verifying your phone number to access the information.
From the account, you can see the used up amounts of calls, texts and data allowance. Subtract this from your plan's allowances to get the balance.
2. Monitoring Bills on Phone
You can get in touch with a customer service agent on a live chat and click on the menu. Select the 'see balance' icon, after which you get a prompt to verify the phone number. Tap the yes button, and you will receive the texts, calls and data balance through text message.
