What You'll Need

To be sure of keeping your previous phone number, you need to reactivate your phone within 30 days of letting your service plan expire. After that period, Straight Talk might assign the number to another phone.Even if you are past the 30 day period, it is worth trying to reactivate it with a hope of getting your old number back, as Straight Talk may not have assigned it to a new phone yet.If your old phone number is no longer available, you will need to activate your phone as if it were a new phone. The procedure is essentially the same as the one described below, but you will also be required to select a new phone number. You will need to provide your phone's IMEI number or serial number, which you can find on the activation card you received with your Straight Talk phone.Your phone's IMEI can also be found under Settings. If you have an Android phone, select "About Phone" from the Settings menu and then "Status." If you have an iPhone, select "General" from the Settings menu and then "About."

Go to the Straight Talk home page.

Click on the account icon in the navigation bar near the top of the page.

Enter your phone number or the email associated with your Straight Talk account or your phone's serial number or your SIM number in the text field provided.

Fill out the CAPTCHA and click the Continue button.

Enter your password in the text field.

Click the Log in Button.

Click on the Plans & Services tab to bring up the drop down menu.

Select the All Plans option from the menu.

Browse the available plans for one you like.

Click on the Select Plan button.

Click the "No, I'm adding a plan" button.

Enter your phone number, the phone's serial number, or the IMEI number in the text field that appears.

Click the Add to Cart button.

Go to your shopping cart and provide the needed payment information in order to complete the transaction.

Wait a couple of minutes to restart your phone, to give the company time to activate your plan.
