Introduction

If you have decided that it is time to leave Q Link Wireless, or StandUp Wireless as it has been known since the reorganization, you may want to learn how to transfer your current phone number to that new service provider. It's not a very complicated process, though it may take a few days to complete.

What You'll Need

Do not cancel your StandUp Wireless account before you transfer your number! Once you cancel it, your number will be reassigned to a new person and you will not be able to get it back. Before you can transfer your number, you must check that your new carrier will allow you to transfer your StandUp number to it. Talk to a representative to find out. Most carriers do not charge a fee to transfer a number, so you should probably be able to do this for free.If StandUp Wireless has placed a restriction on your account for some reason, you will not be able to transfer your number. You must get the restriction lifted before you can transfer your number to a new carrier. You may still be able to use your number while the transfer request is processing. However, it is possible that your ability to use your StandUp Wireless account will be terminated before your ability to use your new account is activated, and you will be left without phone service for some indeterminate time while the transfer is completed.Individual wireless carriers may have their own unique steps for you to follow in addition to the steps outlined below. Contact your new carrier to ask about their exact procedure for transferring in a number from another carrier.

Go to the StandUp Wireless home page.

Why does GetHuman Write How-to Guides for StandUp Wireless Problems?

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
